Overview of Onoxa
Running a business takes hard work and devotion. A boost in sales is always welcome, but it’s not often a given. Onoxa is a solution, exciting new avenue, and welcome addition to any pre-existing or blossoming wellness business.
The online-only, private label beauty brand was the first on the scene to offer totally custom-branded skin and body care serums, creams, and cleansers.
Officially launching in 2016, Onoxa was brought to life by World Product Solutions – a health and beauty sales solutions company. The company’s aim “is to build a place where launching your skincare brand is as easy, efficient, affordable, and rewarding and it is limitless.”
Onoxa’s boutique wellness collection boasts potent, organic plant ingredients, is completely vegan, and has never tested on animals.
Though products used by a multitude of brands may come off as generic, Onoxa’s are anything but. Made from cutting-edge science and offered at affordable prices, the St. Petersburg, Florida-based brand creates an effective line that rivals high-end skincare.
Before we get into exactly how the company’s service works, this Onoxa review will go over their pros and cons:
Pros
- Broad product lineup, from skincare to beard and body and everything in between
- High-quality products for affordable prices
- Offers sample kits before you commit to wholesale
- Vegan and cruelty-free
- Clean, organic, and natural ingredients
- The more you buy the less the products cost
- Transparent about ingredients
Cons
- The business model means many different brands will be pushing the same products
How Does Onoxa Work?
To start your journey, request an Onoxa Sample Kit. As a business owner or lover of natural skincare, you’re probably obsessed with quality. It’s smart to try out any product before you offer it in your store.
The best part about the sample kit is that you’ll be able to use your custom branding to get an overall feel for how the end product will look.
There are 6 sample kits to choose from:
- 8 products
- 17 products
- Hemp Sample Kit
- Value Sample Kit
- Supplement Sample Kit
- Non-branded Trial Pack
Once you pick the kit that best suits your needs, you can upload an existing label or have one designed by Onoxa’s design team. If you’ve chosen the latter, your label will take a couple of days to cook up. It will be sent to you for final proofing, then it’s off to the races!
For estimates on shipping times, read the shipping information section at the end of this Onoxa review.
So, you’ve received Onoxa private label skincare products, tried them out, and fell in love. Now what? The company will offer expert advice on how to market your product and have a successful launch. The rest is up to you.
This Onoxa review must note that when labeling your products, you cannot claim that they make a physical change to the skin or hair, only that it can change its “appearance” along with what the purpose of the product is (i.e. cleansing, tightening, etc.)
When creating your label, keep in mind that Onoxa requires that the following information be displayed:
- Product Name
- Fill Amount (how many oz, mL, etc.)
- Direction on how to use
- Cautions for ingredients and possible side effects
- Your distribution information (company name, address, contact information)
- Ingredients (only if they’re not listed on the packaging)
If Onoxa is designing your label, send along your logo in .jpeg, .png, or .svg format. If you’re creating your own label, download Onoxa’s label template and whip up something creative on Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
If you need help at any point in this process, feel free to reach out to the brand’s creative team at artwork@oxana.com.
At this point, you may love Onoxa private label beauty products but wish they used jasmine instead of Ylang Ylang in one of their night creams. Don’t fret, you can easily request the swap and begin contract manufacturing with the company.
Contract manufacturing with Onoxa means that you’ll pay a fee ($2,500) and put in a minimum order of 2,500 units per product. Customer formulas take about 8 weeks to manufacture.
If you’re looking for a totally custom product, the Onoxa make your own beauty product service can help you out there too. Custom product development costs $5,000 and the minimum order quantity is 5,000 units. This process takes 16-20 weeks.
Onoxa is not a subscription-based company, meaning you order as needed. There is no limited time commitment. Your business is completely your own.
Now that you know the ins and outs of how the company’s private label beauty products work, this Onoxa review will give you a rundown of what types of products they offer, what you can expect to find within them, and your choices for packaging.
Onoxa Review
Picture this: you’re starting a green beauty line. Perhaps you’re a spa owner who wants to offer clients take-home items. Whatever your setup, Onoxa products fit right in with any wellness-related brand.
All of the company’s private label products are made with high-quality ingredients. They’re vegan, cruelty-free, organic, and completely natural.
Before you commit to buying anything, you can read the entire ingredient lineup to see if it is in line with your business model. Take the Hemp Perfect 10 Cleansing Oil for example. There is not one element found within that product that isn’t natural. Have a look for yourself:
“Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Kernel Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Whole Hemp Extract, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).”
The list is long but the contents are all understandable; no purely scientific names here. Each ingredient is listed with the layman’s term for full and utter transparency.
The brand makes 4 lines of beauty products that fall into 5 categories:
- High-end beauty
- Value beauty
- Hemp beauty
- Supplements
- Back Bar
They also stock Evora labs hand sanitizers and an ‘Other’ category that houses tools, capes, product delivery boxes, and labels.
As you select which products you’d like to offer, you’ll be prompted to pick a type of jar, bottle, or container for certain items, but some come with one option only:
- High-End and Hemp Beauty products
- Clear bottle, white top
- Amber bottle, black top
- Value Beauty
- Clear plastic bottle
- Silver top
- White top
- Applicator products are Frosted Clear
- Clear plastic bottle
- Supplements
- White plastic bottles, black tops
Now that you know what you’ll be getting from the company in terms of quality, ingredients, and packaging, this Onoxa review will fill you in on who the service is best suited for.
Who Is Onoxa For?
That’s the beauty of Onoxa: it’s designed to work for a number of businesses.
Whether you’re interested in going door-to-door and selling quality skincare products or offering one or two alongside your waste-free reusables to add variation to your collection, Onoxa skincare is flexible.
The company does not require that you have an existing business to buy their items at wholesale value, and while you could stock up on a few faves for yourself at a great price, this isn’t what the service is intended for.
Comparison: Onoxa vs. Evora
Private label health products are a smart business idea. So it comes as no surprise that there are others out there doing something similar.
In this section of our Onoxa review, we’ll compare our featured brand with a competing brand, Evora Worldwide, to see exactly what makes each one so special.
When landing on Evora’s website, we immediately got a more…pharmaceutical feel, unlike Onoxa’s vibe of boutique-wellness.
Our competitor’s sales pitch is the same, where users can choose to sell whichever products they like from their lineup of Body Care, Burn Care, First Aid, CBD, and Skincare products, rebranding them as their own.
Evora has a wider product lineup, but within their skincare section we found less variation in products and actually a few of the same products that our featured brand sells, like Tea Face Mist and Oil Cleanser.
It’s interesting that Onoxa actually sells a few of Evora’s products, too — 3 different versions of hand sanitizer.
How can this be? Well, considering our competitor brand is located at 118th Ave, St. Petersburg, Florida (Onoxa’s address), Evora Worldwide and Onoxa are probably owned by the same company.
We tried to have a look at the pricing for the Hemp Perfect 10 Cleanser Oil on both websites to see if there are any variations, but Evora’s pricing is available by quote only, whereas Onoxa’s costs are clearly listed under each item.
You can expect the same kind of formulations within each of the brand’s products, but the biggest difference is the selection. Evora’s collection focuses more on medical care while dabbling in skincare, while Onoxa is primarily a skincare brand.
How Much Is Onoxa?
One of the best things about Onaxa is that there is no cost to start up your own beauty business. You can purchase as little, or as many, products as you wish, but the minimum wholesale amount is 12 per item.
Once you click on which product you wish to stock, a chart with wholesale pricing will appear with quantities up to 500 units. The more you buy, the lower the price per item becomes.
For example, the Hemp Perfect 10 Cleanser Oil is priced the following way:
- 12 units: $17/bottle
- 24 units: $16/bottle
- 48 units: $15/bottle
- 96 units: $14/bottle
- 192 units: $13/bottle
- 500 units: $10/bottle
Onoxa Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
Onoxa is the first of their kind. Business owners stake their livelihood on the quality and effectiveness of their products.
Since no Onoxa review would be complete without hearing from customers, we’ll get into feedback found on a few different sites across the web.
First, let’s have a look at a selection of products found on the brand’s website and how customers and sellers rate them:
- Onoxa Biotin Hair Serum – 5/5 stars, 6 ratings
- Detoxifying Charcoal Mask – 5/5 stars, 24 ratings
- CC Serum with Vitamin C – 5/5 stars, 33 ratings
- Pro Repair Serum – 4.5/5 stars, 11 ratings
- Detox Nightwear Cream – 4.5/5 stars, 18 ratings
Since the products are rebranded and sold under a new name, it’s not surprising that there aren’t many reviews found on the brand’s website.
We decided to zoom in on the feedback given for the Detox Nightwear Cream, as that kind of product is really popular on the market right now.
In terms of texture and layering, this cream has mixed reviews. The majority of users report that it has a great smell and is lightweight.
One Onoxa review says that it “Rubs in smoothly with no sticky film afterwards! I love to use [it] as a 3-part kit with the oil cleanse, cc serum, and finish with this!”
This is interesting to read as there are a few reviews that say this cream does not play well with others: “when layered with other products or even by itself it leaves a film and peels pretty bad.” Perhaps it’s about what type of products you use it with.
An Onoxa review on wellness blog, Time is of the Essence, included the reviewer’s opinions on several of the brand’s products. Originally stating that they didn’t expect to be wowed by anything, in the end, they were pleasantly surprised.
The author wrote that the Charcoal Mask “was very light and smooth when applied to the face.”
The Hemp Perfect 10 Cleanser Oil “didn’t feel heavy or slippery on the fingers or skin,” and “the moisturizer was lightweight and didn’t feel sticky when applied.” These sound like truly quality products.
For the Eye Serum, the Onoxa review revealed that it “was a disappointment. It was a little watery and didn’t feel as potent for a serum.”
A valid reason for disappointment, but the real importance, aside from texture, is if a product works. Let’s see if we can find more in-depth commentary.
We came across skincare blog, Strawberry Blueberry, who wrote an article that got into the nitty-gritty of how a variety of the brand’s products feel on the skin.
Though fairly critical of other products, the author seemed to fall in love with the Vitamin C Serum. Noting that “it’s not oily at all,” soaks into skin quickly and dries invisible.
The review also mentions that the brand uses Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate – a “more stable form of Vitamin C,” meaning that its healing powers aren’t as finicky and stay intact.
So, what are the negatives? Mainly how the business operates. Because an unlimited amount of businesses can buy the same products, it means there’s nothing unique about them.
We could see how this could be a potential problem from a business values standpoint, but also, it gives businesses like spas, eco-friendly shops, and wellness blogs the opportunity to make a little extra revenue from quality products.
Is Onoxa Worth It?
So what if there are many products circulating on the market with the same ingredients giving the same results? If those results are great, then more power to the brand. Onoxa gives small businesses, or anyone looking to make a bit of extra money, an opportunity to do so.
They use quality, organic, and vegan ingredients, so what’s the harm with many of the same products circling the wellness market? In the end, the ingredients are disclosed to customers, and that’s all that really matters.
Onoxa protects their sellers with their overarching insurance. If there is a quality control issue, the claim comes to Onoxa – not the seller.
For the most part, the private label beauty brand is a really smart and savvy business idea. Customization of products isn’t cheap, but it can be done.
This Onoxa review believes the service is worth it and hopes that in the future the brand adds more products and expands out into hair care and makeup as well.
