Kylie Skin Review
About Kylie Skin
Kylie Skin is an American skincare brand founded by none other than model, reality TV star, social media star, and celeb Kylie Jenner. You might have heard of her.
Because of Kylie’s mega-celeb status and her already popping Kylie Cosmetics brand, her skincare company has been talked about in everything from the Wall Street Journal to Cosmopolitan, Forbes, People, HuffPost, Vogue, and many more media outlets.
Plus, let’s not forget about the 5M followers on Instagram, 200k on Facebook, and 200k on Twitter. Talk of all things Kardashian and Jenner has remained all the rage for years.
This Kylie Skin review will look at the brand’s bestseller products, customer ratings, shipping and return policies, FAQs, and overall pros and cons. At the end of it all, we’ll tell you if their skincare is worth buying.
Overview of Kylie Skin
Kylie Skin is the sister brand to Kylie Cosmetics (or is it more of a daughter brand? The text is up to your interpretation.) Anyway, Kylie Cosmetics is the name most people think of if they are at all familiar with Kylie Jenner’s business ventures in the beauty world.
When Kylie founded the brand in 2019, she set out to compliment her makeup brand with skincare, because “skincare and makeup go hand in hand.”
Part of the mission was to make the brand totally cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, and sulfate-free to stand out from other skincare brands that are uncaring about the environmental and ethical implications of their ingredients.
She also wanted to steer clear of formulas packed full of nasty chemicals that can cause faces more damage than good.
Like Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin is manufactured by Coty and is headquartered in California.
Before we give you the grand tour of this Kylie Skin review, let’s take a look at the pros and cons list to sum up the brand’s highlights:
Pros
- Offers a stunning selection of skincare, including face scrubs, sunscreens, moisturizers, and even hand sanitizer
- Free shipping over $30
- 100% cruelty-free and vegan
- Made in the USA
- Easily pay for purchases through installments via Afterpay
Cons
- No returns or refunds
- Poor customer service
- More expensive than competitors of similar quality
Kylie Skin Care Review
We all know Kylie Jenner isn’t a dermatologist, but Coty has literally been in the business for more than a hundred years. Could this be a match made in 21st-century heaven? Check out our analysis of 5 bestsellers that protect and nourish your skin to find out.
Kylie Skin Walnut Face Scrub Review
The Walnut Face Scrub could be your new fav exfoliant buddy. With walnut powder and other natural ingredients like orange, lemon, and ginseng extracts, this skin-exfoliating scrub is prepared to buff and moisturize simultaneously.
Exfoliating is a crucial step for glowing skin since it removes dead skin cells from your complexion, keeping you feeling fresh. It’ll make your face feel real soft, too.
The moisturizing agents used are squalane and sodium hyaluronate, two popular ingredients in the skincare world, so it’s no surprise that Kylie chose to include them in her scrub.
Most importantly, there is no fragrance added, a vast difference from the problematic, chemical-y nature of most skincare products you’ll find.
This product is best used 2-3 times a week, morning or night. For $22, it isn’t a steal, but it doesn’t cost a fortune, either. Do beware if you’re allergic to walnuts, since, you know, walnut scrub + walnut allergy = bad.
Kylie Skin Broad Spectrum SPF Face Sunscreen Review
The Broad Spectrum SPF Face Sunscreen has got to be a bestseller because sun protection is key. It’s an easy step to forget about, but is super important, not just for your appearance but also your health. With that in mind, this Kylie Skin sunscreen is equipped with SPF 40 power.
Formulated specifically for your face, it isn’t greasy and won’t create a breeding ground for clogged pores and acne. It’s lightweight, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic.
The star ingredients here are shea butter, Vitamins A, C, and E, and kiwi seed oil. These pieces come together to deliver a UVA and UVB-protection potion that is kind and considerate of your skin’s moisture levels.
The brand recommends reapplying this sunscreen every 2 hours for full protection. At a steep price of $28, we’d better hope that it does a good job of protecting and nourishing your skin since you can find higher-SPF lotions at the drugstore for much cheaper.
Note: this product only ships to US customers.
Kylie Skin Sets Review
Since the whole Kylie beauty reign started with the Lip Kits, it’s only appropriate that Kylie continues to sell convenient product bundles.
Kylie Skin is no different, as we’ll feature 2 of her customer favorites when it comes to skincare sets.
Kylie Skin Set Review
The Kylie Skin Set is a generous set of products to use as your daily skincare routine. The bundle has everything under the sun needed for a glowing complexion. With 6 products included, every part of your face is covered:
- Foaming Face Wash (5 fl oz)
- Walnut Face Scrub (3 fl oz)
- Vanilla Milk Toner (8 fl oz)
- Vitamin C Serum (0.7 fl oz)
- Face Moisturizer (1.75 fl oz)
- Eye Cream (0.57 fl oz)
Your everyday skincare needs all bundled into one handy set of full-size products—no trial-size shenanigans here.
Firstly, you’ll start your Kylie skin care routine off with the Foaming Face Wash to cleanse dirt, oil, and makeup gently off your skin. Then, 2 or 3 days out of the week you’ll go in with the Walnut Face Scrub for that extra self-care boost.
The next step is toning the skin, and this Kylie Skin review loves how the Vanilla Milk Toner is perfect for balancing and preparing your skin for the real-deal products that layer on top.
Cue the Face Moisturizer, a standard moisturizer that does what it says on the tin with shea butter and fruit extracts.
You’re nearing the end of your routine at this point, so the next step is serum. The Vitamin C Serum moisturizes and brightens to take you from a dry dull look to a hydrated glow.
Lastly, you can give attention to those beautiful eyes of yours. No, not your actual eyes of course, because that would be an awful idea, but your under-eyes.
For puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles, the Eye Cream works hard to brighten and hydrate while targeting imperfections, smoothing you out just right.
All this to say: this set includes everything needed for a daily skincare routine plus a face scrub that is good for 2 to 3 times a week. Get the whole Kylie Skin Set for $125. Valued at $140, it isn’t a bad deal at all.
Kylie Skin 4-Piece Mini Set Review
The 4-Piece Mini Set is a great travel set for keeping it simple while keeping your face looking picture-perfect. The essentials included are as follows:
- Mini Foaming Face Wash
- Mini Face Moisturizer
- Mini Vitamin C Serum
- Mini Vanilla Milk Toner
This bundle follows the routine we outlined for the full set above, but it is more compact and features only the basics.
If you don’t like to make things too complicated and/or just need a handy on-the-go set, this is a great option for you that doesn’t break the bank for only $39.
Kylie Skin Hand Sanitizer Review
How could we write a Kylie Skin review without mentioning the hand sanitizer? It’s Kylie Jenner skin care made trendy and pandemic-appropriate.
Kylie Skin Hand Sanitizer Review
So, yeah, you could totally buy hand sanitizer from the drugstore for cheaper, but it wouldn’t be the Kylie Skin Hand Sanitizer. For $7, you’re paying extra for the adorable pink spray bottle with Kylie’s name on it.
It comes in a pretty small yet quite chic 2 fl oz bottle, but it dries fast and non-sticky (thank god for that) with a glycerin formula that helps prevent the dryness that comes from being hygienic and having to sanitize and wash your feelers all the time.
With 80% alcohol, it sanitizes your hands and cleans the germs right off. It’s also vegan, fragrance-free, sulfate-free, and dermatologist-tested, so what’s not to love?
How long does the Kylie Skin Set last?
Our Kylie Skin review found that the Skin Set should last you approximately 2-4 months when used twice daily. With that in mind, the $125 price tag becomes justifiable for that length of time.
Is Kylie Skin good for sensitive skin?
It’s hard to say for certain since different skin is sensitive in different ways. Customer reviews and dermatologist opinions agree that the brand isn’t guaranteed safe for sensitive skin.
You’re better off finding a brand specially formulated for sensitive skin by ideally consulting a licensed dermatologist who can recommend you the best of the best products for your unique skin.
Is Kylie Skin good for acne?
Kylie Skin isn’t going to be the best skincare brand for truly, thoroughly acne-ridden skin. You’re better off looking for a brand that’s specifically made to help deal with acne. But for regular folk with the normal amount of acne, it’s worth a try!
Who is Kylie Skin for?
Our Kylie Skin review determined that the brand is best for their target demographic of teenage to young adult women with average skincare goals.
This includes adding moisture and brightness, dealing with everyday imperfections and small amounts of acne, and no serious skin conditions.

Kylie Skin Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
We’ve looked at the products, the ingredients, and the prices. But what about how the brand’s skincare actually fares in the real world. We turned to customer reviews from their official website, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), TrustPilot, and Sitejabber for all the deets.
The brand’s site reviews are overwhelmingly happy, happy, and happy about the products. All the products in this Kylie Skin review were rated at least 4.3/5 stars. Just check out all the star ratings below:
- Walnut Face Scrub: 4.5/5 stars out of 1841 ratings
- Broad Spectrum SPF Face Sunscreen: 4.7/5 stars out of 456 ratings
- Kylie Skin Set: 4.4/5 stars out of 5649 ratings
- 4-Piece Mini Set: 4.3/5 stars out of 988 ratings
- Hand Sanitizer: 4.4/5 stars out of 150 ratings
Customers had high praise for the products. Even the packaging of the products received compliments from customers who loved the overall presentation and aesthetic of the brand.
And they also had great things to say about the products themselves, providing noticeable results for them:
“My face is so smooth and the toner is my favorite, I can’t believe the little redness I had has practically disappeared!”
Impressive, right? One customer who called the Skin Set a must-have even said that they’ve “Been to a couple different dermatologists and have never found something this good for my skin until this set!”
Before we go full steam ahead on the hype train, this Kylie Skin review has to give you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, including external testimonials.
Firstly, the brand isn’t accredited by BBB, though you should know that Kylie Cosmetics is. Some of that trustworthiness might transfer over to your opinion of Kylie Skin by association.
Complaints from customers were about poor customer service; the cruel no-returns, no-refunds policy; and packages just straight-up not arriving at all.
One customer’s unfortunate tale of frustrating customer service began when they placed an order that was never fulfilled—no order number, no shipment, nadda. They placed a second order, and then:
“I looked on my account today and it says both orders were now canceled as of May 1st, 2020. I have paid for the product in full and going back and forth with them, I am not receiving a resolution, just a different problem everyday.”
On TrustPilot, the stories are similar. The overall star rating is a lousy 2.8/5 stars from 316 reviews. The minority of positive reviews complimented “high quality” products and noticeable results with skin feeling more “refreshed, tighter and clearer.”
Customers also loved the overall “professional approach” of the brand, and some even argued against the crowd of negative reviews, reporting that they found the customer service to be great and had their products delivered quickly and without issues.
Meanwhile, several negative reviews were critical of bad customer service that gave one person a “9-10 week shipping estimate,” didn’t deliver products, and refused to refund damaged products despite the customer sending a photo of proof.
Reviews concerning the quality of the products themselves shared common threads, too. One was that the Foaming Face Wash “turned brown” as early as “4 days” after delivery.
Others said the products actually caused acne or irritation on their face, and a customer with sensitive skin had this to say about their unhappy skin’s reaction:
“It also left my neck and upper chest super itchy. The walnut scrub was too harsh, I have sensitive skin, I use it now on my arms as legs to exfoliate.”
Lastly, check out the reviews on Sitejabber and you’ll find more of the same. Though this site only has 61 reviews, the rating is 1.2/5 stars. 55 reviews were 1-star!
The negative reviews claimed that the “quality is totally absurd instead of the price to pay,” citing the irritation experienced by some. One customer said their “skin has become scary” after using the products and turning their face an unflattering shade of red.
Overall, the positives that the brand’s customers raved about were noticeable results of more moisturized, soft, glowing, clear skin and fast shipping. The negative reviews ranged from poor customer service to damaged skin post-Kylie Jenner skin care.
Is Kylie Skin Worth It?
After all this, we’ve determined that Kylie Skin might be worth it depending on your skincare needs. Everyone has different reactions to skincare products, so it is far from a one-size-fits-all situation.
If you have normal skin—no skin conditions or abnormal amount of acne—you might love the products, especially if you care about natural, vegan, cruelty-free ingredients.
Be warned about the extremely negative reviews of customer service. We recommend purchasing from Ulta or elsewhere other than the brand site for more reliable delivery and return policies.
If you need to treat acne or other skincare concerns, look for a brand that is specially formulated for that type of concern because Kylie Skin is not especially geared towards treating blemishes.
The best thing to do is to consult a dermatologist if possible, so you can get tailored recommendations.
Kylie Skin Promotions & Discounts
Our Kylie Skin review couldn’t find active promos going on right now, but we did find that you can spend over $30 to get free shipping, so, hey, at least there’s that.
